daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing? Interesting day yesterday. Saw both good and not so good things happen to others. I find I want to take the pain away in the people I meet. I find I want to help them heal. I find I want to show them how Jesus is calling and while a life of ease and comfort is not what is promised, strength, peace, love and a softer heart is what he gives. Those things get so twisted with the way things have gone in organized churches. Perhaps the perception of those churches is what has many a tad topsy turvy but think on this, why is the perception so off many times? Because of us. We sin and jump on others for the same sin.  David did when he had that affair with Bathsheba and even went to extremes to hide it. When a similar case was presented to him by the prophet Nathan, David was quick to condemn the offender only to find out it was him that Nathan was speaking of. All is known by God so we can't hide anything. We have to be open and honest and not let our ego get in the way of repentance. We must be open to the Holy Spirit when he prompts us to fess up or to humble ourselves, even when it's to someone that makes us want to scream. We are held to a higher standard as children of God therefore being a person who puts on airs rather than being real is a sin also. If you can't speak without gossip or slander, shut up. If what you are about to say will hurt rather than help, is it necessary to verbalize it? Read 2 Samuel chapters 11 and 12.

Luk 6:41-42
"Why do you see the speck in your brother's eye but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?   How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you don't see the beam in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you'll see clearly enough to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

2Pe 2:14-15
With eyes full of adultery, they cannot get enough of sin. They seduce unsteady souls and have had their hearts expertly trained in greed. They are doomed to a curse.  They have left the straight path and wandered off to follow the path of Bosor's son Balaam, who loved the reward he got for doing wrong.

Heavenly Father,
Help our unbelief. Help us be pure and real and not fake Christians. Let us be courageous in being humble and trustworthy. Lord we ask for wisdom so we do not harm  your name. Take us into your arms and teach us to be your servants and your disciples. Thank you for this day and the opportunities it will present. In Jesus name, amen
