daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing? This has been a couple of weeks of turmoil and it is obvious that the enemy can't attack us straight on in some areas so he is using a flanking move. He is attacking peripheral things that effect us because he can't usually come at us where we aren't typically vulnerable. This is not new. These things are not unique. Since the fall of man this has been a useful tactic by the enemy because most times it works. The attacks start small and escalate. But here is something to remember when you are under attack. God is still where he always has been so as soon as we recognize the attack we need to stop focusing on the attack and run as fast as we can to the Lord. Get in the Word. Pray. Then approach the battle armed and ready. I had a conversation with a man yesterday that was still grieving over a loss of a Dad and while the pain is real, the pain was the focus and not the knowing that his Dad is in heaven, absent from the body present with the Lord.  It is a very effective ploy of the enemy to keep us in grief which leads to despair. Dangerous ground because that is actually a sin in looking at ones self at the detriment of others. If that condition stays to long, neglect of the things here can lead to all sorts of sinful things. So I gotta love this man, prop him up, pray for him and his, encourage and admonish as it is needed. I can't ease the pain, only God can. I will be the servant of Jesus and do as he says to do so when you recognize these things going down, remember who you are, a child of God, remember Jesus already whooped all this, these are just flailings from a defeated enemy, be quick to repent and start over. Remember the Prodigal son story, God is patiently waiting to hug you.

Joh 13:34-35
A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.  By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

1Pe 1:22-23
Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another from the heart fervently:  having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which liveth and abideth.

remember Eddy...

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Word that nourishes us. Help us be honest and trusting of your ways. Help us see truth clearly and be courageous to act on it. We do lift those up with various struggles of this life and ask you make it clear where and what is needed. Keep us humble and knowing that you are the reason we have hope. In Jesus name, amen
