daily prayer

     Good morning! How are we faithing? Escapism. I see it all over. People escape with drugs, things, solitude. Some solitude is good for reflection and communing with God. Some drugs have a purpose. Stuff is fine until our drive for stuff becomes addictive. What is interesting to me is why the escapism into everything but what we ought to be escaping to. I understand we all need a break or a pause in the action to breathe but when it becomes modus operandi to escape from and place blame, that is when it becomes dangerous. I want to encourage you to drop those walls of defense from a God who loves and accepts you as you are. A God who wants to transform you for YOUR good, not his. Our Father in heaven is not a God who is waiting to slap us for our infractions but a Father who wants to bless us and shows us how to live holy and away from evil and the things that cause us to want to escape.  I have learned that the only good escapism is to the Lord. The rest of those escape things are temporary and when used for their intended purpose and not abused they serve their purpose in a healthy manner so we don't get so damaged we make bad choices. Make sense?

Heb 11:25-26
  Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

Jer 9:23-24
 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:  But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

remember Chris...remember Kat...

Heavenly Father,
  Thank you for your rest. Thank you for your Word. We praise your holy name. We ask for wisdom. Help us be the people you designed us to be. Help us rest when necessary. Help us not hinder or hurt others. In Jesus name, amen
