daily prayer

    Good morning! How are we faithing? The Word is for our good and not for regulation. It doesn't take a mental giant to realize the ten commandments keep one safe. The ramifications of disobeying them can be horrific. It's like us telling someone it's a good idea to dance on the freeway. Oh you can do it but it may kill you. Sometimes the Lord speaks in the Word with a warning about what will happen and some times he doesn't need to, the ramifications are self evident. We also need to be careful that we don't fall for cultural acceptances when they fly in the face of what God has told us. To many times we permit things out of convenience or simply we want to do them. There are examples in the Word of people even burning their own children as a sacrifice to their "gods". That is very extreme to say the least but we allow abortions for convenience sake. How does that compute in a mind? Is that any different? More sanitary perhaps but just as abhorrent. Look at this warning;

Deu 12:29-32
  "When the LORD your God cuts off before you the nations whom you go in to dispossess, and you dispossess them and dwell in their land,  take care that you be not ensnared to follow them, after they have been destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire about their gods, saying, 'How did these nations serve their gods?—that I also may do the same.'  You shall not worship the LORD your God in that way, for every abominable thing that the LORD hates they have done for their gods, for they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.  "Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do. You shall not add to it or take from it.

actually, read the whole chapter on your own and just think...

remember Steph and Ken...remember Epp...remember CK...remember Travis...

Heavenly Father,
  Open our eyes to truth. Help us recognize when we stray due to cultural or "tolerance" reasons. Help us know what and why we believe your Word. We lift those mentioned to you and ask blessings in all our endeavors, in Jesus name, amen
