daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing?  Sometimes a preacher or teacher has a way of explaining the Word that can put off people and some times they can be very inviting with the delivery. I believe neither is wrong or right all the time. I believe hell fire and brimstone works for some and does not for others. The best way we as believers can act is to consider what is said and the accuracy of the statements, not the delivery. Now if one who preaches makes you cringe, maybe you should find another because lets face it, we may have an upbringing that leads us to respond to a different "style" than the other guy. My daughter and I were discussing this and even so far as the differences between us may lead to different leaders. I respond to logic and word explanations. Others do not. I like history lessons, others pass out from boredom. The details interest me while others want the facts  simply presented.  Here's an example. I first read these and wondered about every word and others read this and get it right away.

Mat_24:7  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mar_13:8  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
Luk_21:11  And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

The word "divers", I had to look up in Greek and how it was used. I remember reading this as a young person thinking it meant in the sea. Come to find out that is not what it means. In Greek it can mean various and opposition, intensity depending on usage and subject matter. To some this is just clicking and clucking sounds while others find it necessary to understand. All this to say, when you study, find what works for you. If you get understanding from calm teachers, that's who you should learn from. If you need a loud in your face teacher, that's where you ought to be but above all, trust but verify in the Word.

remember the Rumers...

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Word that nourishes us. Lord we lift the lost to you. Bring them close to you. Let them find and accept your gift of pardon this day. Help us remember your Word constantly. In Jesus name, amen
