Good morning! How are we faithing? Benefit of doubt. Not always easy to give but we have to pause and consider that perhaps it may exist. Anyone that comes our way, minus a life threatening manner, is to be given the same consideration we would want. Lack of sleep, sickness, personal grief, mimicking, learned response, theirs or yours may be explanations for that knucklehead getting on your nerves. We talked recently about going solely on what our eyes see and the danger that it can hold. Rather than being instantly offended or angered we ought to train ourselves to consider more than the immediate and look around. A guy stopped for help on his car breakdown and was very pushy, load and was using colorful language. I noticed the car was beat up, it was hot out and a child was crying in the car seat. His approach was totally forgivable after taking note of those variables. A kind word, help with the car, talking to the little one and his demeanor changed and with a smile he drove off. In another life I would have told him off and sent him packing. What a shame that would have been. Jesus is right and Paul explains it right.
2Ti 2:24-26
And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for grace. Thank you for forgiveness. Thank you for that peace that passes all understanding. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that teaches and calms us. Lord help us see the big picture so we don't treat others incorrectly but with compassion and benefit of the doubt. We praise you and seek your face in everything, in Jesus name, amen
