Good morning! How are we faithing? What motivates people may or may not be our concern. I have a friend who is outspoken about a subject he believes is detrimental to the life of others. He has spoken truthfully and made his position known but there are some who label him and speak very loudly that his motivation is vile and he is judging. Nothing could be further from the truth but because of others questioning his motives, he will suffer ridicule and chastisement. I have seen people give to poor people and heard some say "he just wants to be noticed". I'll bet the poor person getting help doesn't care what motivation was at play. His needs were met and he is thankful. It's no skin off our nose what the motivation of others may be unless it affects their action. Giving to the needy or standing for a cause is a personal thing and we have no right to point fingers and judge their motivation. Why would we do that? Who gains? Are we just calling names because we can't find any other way to prop up our view? I know what my Bible tells me is sin and if asked I share otherwise my actions show my motivation. Gee whiz we see politicians say one thing and do another all the time and that is deemed just politics. Really? Wouldn't that be a perfect example of obvious motivation? Don't be so quick to judge why I do what I do but judge that I do it. If you help your neighbor mow his yard when he is sick, what is it to me why? Isn't it cooler that you did? I think we need to pay attention to our own walk. Just think about it.
Joh 21:19-22
This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me. Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Word that nourishes us. Forgive us when we focus on wrong thing. Help us see what is important and to act as we believe without fear. Lord we lift your holy name and desire to serve you honorably and without selfish motivations. Help us control our thoughts and our tongues. In Jesus name, amen
