daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing this fine day? I am amazed at us humans and how we make things harder than they need to be. I suppose it's because of our make up which consists of body, mind and spirit. Our bodies require certain things like food and water to stay alive while our mind needs nourishment also or it deteriorates to where our thoughts become well, useless or at least for no good to our bodily needs. Our spirit needs the best nourishment. Our spirit needs the Word of God first and then the rest from all the mind and bodily needs. We dwell sometimes on things that actually turn things worse than they otherwise would have been. We over analyze, we surmise other reactions to stimuli, we get apprehensive about what lies ahead rather than rest on what the Word of God tells us. Life is difficult but with a savior we have already won so why do we get so wound up? Nature of this vessel we occupy is my thought. We need to rearrange the priority of those three things we are made of. Rather than feeding the vessel we ought to feed the spirit first while training the mind to recognize what affects the flesh. We need to be concerned more with spiritual food than meat loaf. We need to saturate our mind with the things of God so the spirit remains in communion with the Lord and our bodies are subject to that mind and not the other way around. The news is proof that the bodies are ruling many. Just think about that...

Mat 6:25-34
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for all you give. Help us keep you in front of our thoughts and deeds. Help us to recognize the things that hurt us. Help us to be the children you designed. Help us be holy. Grant us wisdom and courage in all we face. In Jesus name, amen
