daily prayer

    Good morning! How are we faithing? I have a new computer with a different operating system so I am still exploring and learning. Pretty cool and all but I am in a learning curve so please bear with me.
    Self examination is important for us. We are responsible for how we live. We are the ones, if there's anyone, to blame. Things others do can affect us but we are the ones who must give account for our actions. We also are accountable for our thoughts. Oh I know errant thoughts pop into our heads but how we deal with them is on us. David knew this;

Psa 32:5
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

I see events happen on the news all the time and nobody is taking responsibility for anything except ISIS. They blow crap up and revel in it. At least they're honest. What are we as believers to do? Judge ourselves so we can stay on task and not drift off into never never land. Confess to the Lord. Don't hide because he already knows. Confession is for us to do so we can remain aware of our own state.

1Co 11:31
For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

Isn't that interesting! By judging ourselves we realize our own mistakes, hopefully repent and improve and then we no longer come into judgement. If we take responsibility we are compelled to not do it again. I know I am a sinner and it's all my fault because no one can make me do anything I don't want to do...oh wait...the IRS...Ha!

Heavenly Father,
  Thank you for chastising us as a good Father does his children. Thank you for doing it in a loving way so we get better. Lord we ask for courage to face ourselves in the mirror. Help us gain wisdom to lead by example. Help us to be your ambassadors to a dying world. In Jesus name, amen
