Good morning! How are we faithing? I love tongue in cheek comedy. I love plays on words. I am so thankful the Bible is so precise and at the same time I can see humor in our heavenly Father. Too many times people of the cloth have that down in the basement digging holes demeanor. Why? Being pious and austere constantly is the only way that means holy? I don't think so. Look at all the new born critters in the spring and all their antics. I laugh this time of year seeing colts and calfs hopping and running in the fields. Yes this faith is serious business but levity has its place too. Don't take yourself too serious man. Levity and love walk hand in hand and love without laughter is awfully boring. As you spend this week out amongst the masses, don't take yourself too seriously, laugh at yourself and thank God for all he has created.
Psa 126:1-6
A Song of degrees. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Job 8:20-22
Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers: Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing. They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
remember the Baker family...remember Junior...remember Cecil...remember the brothers and sisters in Christ being slaughtered over seas...
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your peace and understanding that we are a messed up lot. Thank you for salvation. Teach us to not take ourselves too seriously but be wise to what is needed to seek and lead the lost to you. Grant courage and wisdom to those being killed for their faith in Jesus. Touch souls and bodies that need a miracle healing. In Jesus name, amen
