Good morning! How are we faithing? In John 17 Jesus is recorded as praying for the disciples and for the rest of humanity. Jesus acknowledged that his time was at hand. Jesus knew that shortly he was to take on sin in it's entirety for everyone. The awesomeness of that is very hard to fathom. The law was implemented so people knew what sin was and if you know what sin is, you can repent. If you don't know what sin is sin, why would you ever repent or even think to repent? These "modern" times where prevailing thinking is to "do whatever as long as it doesn't hurt someone else" leads one in the opposite direction from God and is not "modern" at all. If nothing is wrong, sin doesn't exist, therefore, no one would come to the Lord for repentance and apologize and guess what....that ploy of the enemy works. Look around and listen. This subject in this context just spoken of is addressed in Romans 5. That is the crux of repentance. Admitting you ain't righteous, admitting you can't fix yourself to righteousness and recognizing that by one mans sin, Adams, all men became guilty and by one mans sacrifice, Jesús, we come under grace. So huge and theologically complex and at the same time, simple. Repent, accept, believe. Look at this example of recognizing ones sin and what all involved did...
John 8:1-11
But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. And early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him; and He sat down and began to teach them. And the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the midst, they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. "Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?" And they were saying this, testing Him, in order that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground. But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And when they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the midst. And straightening up, Jesus said to her, "Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?" And she said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go your way. From now on sin no more."

Heavenly Father,
Lord we lift you up and praise your holy name. Thank you for revealing your truths in your Word. Lord grant us peace. Calm us when we worry and take on things. Reveal truth of things and break them down to the simplest form so we can see what really is happening. Lord we seek you daily but get distracted by the world. Help us maintain focus so the world doesn't horn in on our peace you have given. Lord help us seek you and apply the truth we find, in Jesus name, amen
