       Good morning! How are we faithing? James was talking about how unruly and uncontrollable the tongue is. He is not alone. The tongue has been that way since satan deceived Eve. James said;

Jas 3:8  But no one can tame the tongue, it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

As believers we must be very aware of what and how we speak. Meaness, vile words, slaying words can create enemies cause more calamity in our life. Way back when the psalms were written this subject was talked about. Nothing is new under the sun for sure..

Psa 57:4  My soul is among lions; I lie among those on fire, the sons of men whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

Now look at this and tell me this isn't all around us. Backbiting, betrayal, self serving in political arenas especially but even in all other areas of our lives. Check this out;

Psa 64:1-6  To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; guard my life from fear of the enemy.  Hide me from the council of those who injure, from the rebelling of the workers of iniquity,  who sharpen their tongue like a sword, they tread their arrows, even a bitter word,  so that they may shoot at the blameless one from a lurking place; suddenly they shoot at him, and fear not.   They encourage themselves in an evil plan; they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, Who shall see them?  They search out injustice, saying, We have finished hiding a hidden plot. Yea, the inward part of man and the heart are deep.

Look up the rest of Psalm 64. God wins.

Heavenly Father, Thank you for wisdom imparted to us from the Word. Help us control our tongues so we are a blessing to others and not a curse. Help us recognize truth and lies and respond righteously. In Jesus name we pray, amen
