Good morning! I think fall may be arriving! Yahoo! My favorite time of year.
Heard a quote and it was like a gong went off. " A burden is heavier, if you think you are the only one carrying it." Man, ain't that the truth! When we're in the midst of a trial of some sort, we often feel isolated. Truth is, we aren't. Nothing that is happening to you is new. New to you maybe but not a new circumstance. Jesus endured all the trials and temptations we do. So having a savior that knows exactly how we feel and what we cope with is an encouragement. Also whenever you go through things and feel alone, pray and don't be afraid to talk to someone. For me, every time I feel a little "woe is me", another person in such more sad shape appears and my woes seem trivial in comparison. My woes are still present but the perspective sure changes. Jesus said he would take on our burdens and pains. We like to wallow in them and seek pity sometimes but don't fall into that! Fight it with the Word and the knowledge it teaches us!
Hebrews 4:14-16
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet was without sin.
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
NIV
John 15:7
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
KJV
That's confidence. That's surety that we are blessed people and God cares. Don't let the enemy put thoughts in your head that cause you to spiral down into a pit of depression. You WILL come through! You WILL be better for it! Believe and look out beyond the immediate and see the end. Jesus loves YOU!
Heavenly Father,
We come before you today with our burdens to lay them at your feet because we know you are in charge and are able to fix them. Teach us to be faithful and steadfast in our faith. Help us see the big picture and not dig into our despair. Help us be lights of love to the world. Help us seek you when we are down. We love and worship you Lord. Thank you for never changing and always being there for us. We lift the troops and leaders to you. Help them be wise in you. in Jesus name, Amen
