daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing? Every day we fight against the things that displease us. Whether they are justified or just plain whining. We get haughty and think we know more than anybody else and that we have it all figured out.  Some things we do, most we don't. When our ego becomes defensive, we tend to dismiss things on the basis or our own view.  Recognizing that our view is skewed  takes courage and wisdom. We're not talking about matters of opinion but facts. When we discover we have been mistaken about something it is best to repent and not feel stupid. Heck man, I find out thing all the time that I was convinced of that were just not the case. I also find out things that are proven true and try to treat it as confirmation and not brag that I knew that. These verses below are very good advise to keep our ego in check...

Jas 4:1-8
Whence come wars and whence come fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your pleasures that war in your members?
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and covet, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war; ye have not, because ye ask not.
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend it in your pleasures.
Ye adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore would be a friend of the world maketh himself an enemy of God.
Or think ye that the scripture speaketh in vain? Doth the spirit which he made to dwell in us long unto envying?
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore the scripture saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.
Be subject therefore unto God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye doubleminded.

Remember Hallie Tracy family....remember Brian...

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the cross. Lead me to your ways and grace. We lay our burdens at your feet. Bless those families that are hurting today, remind them of your love for them. Teach us to be humble in our ego and thank praise without being puffed up. Lord, give us a vision and an interpretation. Show us your path for us, in Jesus name, amen
