daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing?  What is this love you have for your spouse? How do you view your other half? Today's daily is for the married folks out there. You are one in the eyes of God and yet also individuals when it comes to the relationship in Jesus. Together we got married. Together we praise God. Together we face the challenges this life brings us. Our love for each other has to be like Jesus' love for us. Above reproach, not dependent on what we do or don't do for each other but both of the partners concerned for each other more than they are for themselves. We must forgive. We must get after each other with love. We must trust. We must not get defensive. We must seek to please each other. There are a ton of conversations we could have about each of those things but the basic premise is to love the other as much as you love yourself. Realistically you can't love them more than yourself or that would become idol worship. Don't think so? Every time I've seen some one who adores the other more than ones self, one does everything and the other treads on the first. That is not balanced at all. True love is regarding the other more than ones self but the love is like this; "what would I want done". The Word tells us to love one another. It tells us to love like Christ loves the church. It tells us to respect each other. If you think about these things, how we should treat each other becomes self evident. Just give this some thought today...maybe open some dialog?

Php 2:1-4
If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassions,  make full my joy, that ye be of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;  doing nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself;   not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Word that helps us find truth. Help all of us in our marriages and help us understand how we should be. Show us your love and peace so we can do the same. Help us understand your will for our lives. Teach us to be humble and loving to all we meet. Let others see you in us. Bless those struggling today. Touch them with wisdom and forgiveness in Jesus name, amen
