Good morning! How are we faithing? There are many different beliefs based on interpretation of the Word. Some people have built a whole religion from pulling verses and using them to say what they think or want them to say. We were warned to not let false teachers even into our houses because deception, whether realized or not, id there goal. People have been fooled and still are being led down paths of destruction. The only way we can follow our Lord is by his Word and by his spirit. Dogmatic things from churches must be examined. Deriving a law from scripture that isn't telling how to do something but what can be dangerous. Just because it's always been done one way doesn't mean another way is wrong. Only the things specifically told us how should we do that way. I've heard people tell me things were wrong because they didn't like the way they were done and from pulling way more from scripture than is stated. You have got to do the studying alone as well as under a sound teacher. We cannot go listen to a preacher and never open the Word and expect to grow and be firm in our beliefs. It is important you know why you believe what you believe. You have to be convinced of why and what you believe or you will be vulnerable to "good sounding" doctrine. The anti christ spirit roaming around is very very wily. He's heard all the arguments so be convinced and aware. Heresy can come in all sorts or forms from a simple misinterpretation to outright deceit for self gain...
2Jn 1:6-11
And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Word that is the only truth in this world. Open our eyes to heresy and to deceptive teachings. Let us recognize quickly those that would deceive us and lead us from you. Help our understanding of your Word. Protect our minds from the enemy. Let no lie permeate our thinking. Let us walk according to your Word, in Jesus name, amen
