daily prayer

Good morning!  How are we faithing?  Man, studying the Word of God is so huge. Things people saw in visions a couple thousand years ago are described with reference to their surroundings then. When we look at history, do a little research into life back in those times,  only then do many prophecies begin to make sense. The unfolding of prophesy now has an entirely different look than even a hundred years ago let alone a few thousand years ago. Do you read the Word just because you are suppose to? Do you not read the Word because it makes no sense to you? Let me encourage you to approach the Word with a mindset of communication with our Lord, a look into the mind of God and a way to encourage ourselves to move from day to day. The Word is so full of insights to our Lord and to the inner workings of mankind. The Word speaks of natural things in us and behaviors that are instilled because God is good. It also tells us about evil influence.  If you pause and reflect or simply look around you can see both. In studying cultures that never were exposed to the Word and Godly principles we find many of the moral fiber in place yet at the same time there have been a people found without it and they perished. Hmm, Interesting. History repeats. Behavior begets the same outcome. I want to encourage you to pick up the Bible, reread or read for the first time the stories you've heard before and check out some you never heard about and look a tad deeper. Maybe even go on line and look up some history to make the story you just read become real. God does speak to us in his written Word and life lessons are contained, even what you are facing is there. Ever read the story of the prophet Samuel? King Saul and his rise and fall?  David and his exploits? The underlying attitudes are not any different than those around us now.  Check out 1 Samuel ...

remember Anna and Jess...remember Kat and I....remember Berta...remember our families and children

Heavenly Father,
Open our eyes Lord. Renew and unquenchable enthusiasm in reading your Word. Open up the scriptures and let it fly off the pages!  Forgive our sins Lord and help us understand worship for you. Lead us down the path to holiness and in Jesus name rebuke the enemy and his minion. Make you Word come alive so we doon't want to put it down!  In Jesus name, amen
