daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing? Sometimes we have to revisit basic theology. Sometimes we can get so focused on staying in line with rules we miss the spirit of the rule. Take the ten commandments for example. "Thou shalt not kill" is one that if we were to take way out of context we would be mosquito bitten, fly airstrip non grass walking on creatures who perish before we even grow. We would not take meds for fear of killing germs. This is not to say that all of the Bible is left up to interpretation but that we need to take it in its entirety. We need to look for meaning of words in the original language and how they were used . We need to remember comparisons were for the people of the time they were written. We need to use wisdom from the Holy Spirit because when we were saved, the Holy Spirit lives in us. The scribes and pharisees made that mistake way back. Some that think likewise are around today too. They held and hold people to the letter of the law all the while they are looking to catch each other in junk just to make themselves feel better about their life. Man, they missed the whole point and some still do today. Lately there is an event all over social media and the news about one mans opinion. That in itself ought to make people recognize right off that as an American, isn't that we formed this union for? If ones opinion is based on biblical principles, why is that such an issue? Granted acting holier than thou and calling sinners out in public or with disdain is wrong but that isn't even what happened. I have my opinions about stuff but when it's Gods Word, that isn't even my opinion, it's Gods and I agree with the creator. We all must remember that as a people saved only by grace we have to be loyal to our God and when we take the entirety of that Word we remember to hate the sin and not the sinner and then  and only then do we start to see the person God sees.

Eph 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Word that sustains us. Bless those seeking you and show them the way you have made them for. Lord, we do ask for wisdom to act and speak in a manner that glorifies you. Touch those with physical needs today. Open the eyes of those who are lost. Let them ask for your grace and forgiveness. In Jesus name, amen
