daily prayer

Great morning! How are we faithing? The rules and laws laid down in the Bible still apply. We are judged by faith in Jesus and that grace is what saves us therefore the law now sits in another place in our lives. I've heard people say they can do anything because God will forgive them. There is a big problem with that line of thought. Why would one want to do what God said was bad for them? Why would one claim the promises of God and yet think they could live like the devil?  Look, I'm not pointing fingers at all but we must be aware of the law and the purpose of it. Adultery is one of those "thou shalt not" rules. Pause and think why it would be important for us to adhere to that one. How about "bearing false witness" or "thou shalt not steal". Do you see the importance of these? The cause and effect from obeying or not obeying the law is self evident. I see cars with fish emblems on them full of professing believers flipping others off for perceived driving errors. I see believers lying or exaggerating about the fish they caught. It all comes down to paying attention to your behavior and not others. It comes down to judging as we would like to be judged. It comes down to faith in a messiah that loves unconditionally therefore we follow his precepts knowing we are better for them. Reflect on this as this new year gets rolling.

2Th 3:11-13
For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.  But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

Eph 4:28-32
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
