daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing? A subject that is so messed up these days and basically in the last 50 years has been twisted and turned upside down is the subject of sex and love.  I have observed many things over my lifetime and while noticing things and trends I am just not smart enough to formulate in words what I saw and see. I heard a man talk on this recently and his observations were the same and he was smart enough to put it all together in a cohesive study. Something as simple as the old movies verses todays movies show romance in a whole different light. The old ones showed love and the sex side came after love but the new ones show sex as a tool or as a selfish gratification and maybe it grows into love but most times no. The social results of the later is quite evident in todays society and you know what? It amounts to idol worship. Sex being the idol rather than it being an expression of love. Don't get this wrong, God designed sex. Sex is good. Sex is needed for a species to survive. The problem comes when a persons idea of what sex is for becomes twisted up in everything but love. In this forum I can only urge you to think and to maybe open your eyes to truth in the Word. What do your kids see in you as an example of love and passion? What are we teaching them what sex is about? What did God teach us about love and sex? What were we taught as kids that may be wrong? I know people who struggle with love and with sex. I know people who talk trash all the time about sex. I also know people who desire their spouses more than any thing and have a healthy attitude towards their betrothed. Where are you thoughts and feelings and what are they based on? Godly principles or porn? I could write a book on my meager observations and misstakes but I do know God designed us and satan perverted us. Here is the first chapter of the Song of Solomon. I urge you to read the whole book and see a Godly man in love with a Godly woman...

Son 1:1-17
The song of songs, which is Solomon's.
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine. Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee. Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.  I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.  Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.  Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?  If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents.  I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots. Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold. We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver. While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.  A bundle of myrrh is my wellbeloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.  My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.  Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.  Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.  The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.

Gee, I think this guy is in love...

remember Summer...remember the road crews...remember the emergency workers...remember our troops...

Heavenly Father,
Open our eyes to your truth in everything. Help us recognise where we are struggling and where root problems may be. Teach us you ways in everything we do. Protect the innocent. Grant us wisdom and courage to live upright and holy. in Jesus name, amen
