daily prayer

   Good morning! How are we faithing? Theology. Man o man can study bog us down. By no means am I saying we shouldn't study the Word but we can get so into study we miss God. Look at this;

2Ti_3:7
 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

That is really interesting when we try to look at things from a non western cultural view. Western culture is all about learning and then doing whereas eastern culture is all about doing then studying. Experience is valued more than education. The scribes and pharisees couldn't grasp what Jesus was teaching for that reason. They were so wrapped up in studying and following the letter of the law they missed the spirit of it. Remember the story of Jesus and the woman caught in adultery? The letter of the law was telling those people who wanted to stone the woman that they were justified. Jesus opened their eyes to their own sin thus forgiveness came to the woman. Don't miss salvation because you go to church, sing in the choir, teach Sunday school but haven't even met the savior. When salvation comes then the real studying begins. No longer are you searching for the savior but learning from him in scripture. So many lies out there based on knowledge only. Likewise many seek only the experience and can get led down the wrong road. Strike a balance here people. Repentance first, acceptance of the gift of pardon from messiah Jesus then with the experience of the love and peace that comes you will desire to know the savior more, then the study begins!

Joh 7:16-18
  So Jesus answered them, "My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. If anyone's will is to do God's will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.  The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.

Heavenly Father,
   Forgive our sins Lord and open our eyes to all you are. We ask for wisdom and truth to show up in our lives. Show us any doctrine we have gotten wrong because of theology. Holy Spirit we ask you flow in and on our lives. Enable us to be strong and courageous in you. In Jesus name we pray, amen
