Good morning! How are we faithing? I am learning more and more about human nature and our propensity to repeat actions. Besides my own screw ups I read in the Bible of devout men, holy men sin just like we do. I see time after time the Jewish nation fall. They get low, seek Gods face, get set free, get comfortable, start forgetting or replacing God, get conquered and the cycle starts all over. Why are we so quick to forget? Why do we fall for things over and over? I suppose comfort level perhaps, taking our eyes off God once we get what we want or simply forgetting our place in grace. The Bible is full of warnings to God's people but they just couldn't seem to maintain. How do we keep from doing this same thing? I don't know exactly because I catch myself doing it too so all I can tell you is be aware of this tendency to fall away from God not as a turning from God consciously but a comfort level or maybe even a haughty view of ones self that causes us to relax our convictions. Very very dangerous. Read 1st and 2nd Kings. Read about the strong men of God and remember today's discussion. Keep alert to this type of falling away or relaxing or whatever it's called...
Jer 10:2-4
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your grace. Thank you for making this world for us. Help us never forget you. We lift our leaders to you. Clear their minds of all the world has shown them and let them wake up to your wisdom. In Jesus name, amen
