daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing? As believers we are to love like Jesus did. Do You? Do you look a stranger in the eye when addressing them all the while searching for the emotional state they are in...just like you would your spouse or Mom or Dad? Are you really concerned just as much as you are for you child? Do you show compassion and interest like you expect others to do for you? Of course we don't have the responsibility of strangers but we do have the commandment to preach and teach and love. Sometimes we use words too. Look at yourself and inspect your attitude towards strangers and see if you give a hoot or are you just playing a part. If a new person comes into your church do you really want to invite them? Do you reach out with real love and not just a bit part as in a play? What Jesus gave us was pardon and compassion. That same said compassion we must show all the time and it needs to be real and not just for show. People can tell the difference. Sure I really am not concerned with every aspect of peoples lives necessarily but if they seek guidance I must be willing to help as much as I can but in the Lord. I must forgive. Jesus taught us to be disciples and along with that wisdom. The wisdom we glean from the Word helps us draw the line of love verses interference and or control. When I dealt with the men at the Mission I had to be compassionate but aware of folly, corruption, cons and manipulation. I was used but you know what? That's ok because it was my responsibility to be compassionate, those other things have a way of revealing themselves in due time. Wisdom came by way of following Christ no matter how it effected me.

1Pe 3:8-20
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:  Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:  Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.  For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.  And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?  But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:  By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;  Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Heavenly Father,
Grant us wisdom and courage in all we do. Pour out your compassion on us so much it overflows to everyone we meet. Help us reflect your love in a way that it cannot be denied. Help us remember where we came from and others can find that same peace in you. We lift our leaders to you. Let them have vision of your grace and act accordingly. Protect our troops in Jesus name, amen
