Good morning! How are we faithing? Today's talk is for the saved in Christ. Watered down gospel is dangerous and does disservice to God. The truth;
Act 10:42
And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.
What is this speaking of? The apostles were to to go spread the word that redemption is available through Jesus the Christ and him only. Being a disciple of Jesus is not easy and it doesn't promise happiness but peace. It doesn't offer smooth sailing but strength in a storm. It doesn't offer that temptation never comes but the mind of God to recognize temptation and the basis, the Word, to deflect and stand up to it. Watering down those simple truths sets up people to doubt or even leave the faith when struggles come. I'm not saying we all don't have spells when we get blind sided that we question everything I am saying that when that happens if we have a correct strong foundation we are always able to turn to God and "pass through the fire" as it were. To many "christians" are succumbing to false teachings about the expectation of life on planet earth and ignoring what the Word says.
1Co_10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
So many of us look within to how butt hurt we are and pull up defenses and believe what we want to hear. We think we are the only ones going through temptation like ours. We think we are unique therefore we rationalize or compare our selves to others and what they are doing thinking "they can, so can I". We all hurt from time to time. We all get unhappy at circumstances. That's when we are vulnerable. That's when our selfish nature can rear its ugly hear and take over if we let it. Point;

Mat_26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
When you find yourself in a predicament where you see yourself as unhappy or depressed, clinical depression aside, remind yourself of God's Word. Lean on him not your own strength because your own strength will get you only so far and if your own strength isn't predicated with Jesus' words you can and will fall for things you wouldn't normally. Remember the promises of God. Looky at this one for those who are patient even in the storms;
Rev_3:10
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
I understand pain. So does Jesus. I understand depression, so does Jesus. I understand feeling abandoned, so does Jesus. I understand being alone in a crowd, so does Jesus. Look today where we ought to look and not to something besides God because time has proven, anything but God eventually blows up.
Heavenly Father,
We ask blessings on those being tried this week and ask clarity and courage to rest on your Word even when all around us speak contrary. Lord, lift your name on high and bless you. Help us walk holy in the face of unholiness. Grant us so much wisdom in all we do. In Jesus name, amen
