daily prayer

     Good morning! How are we faithing? My son and I are in a conversation and we actually agree but are coming from different ends of the outlook. It has to do with what is said verses what actions take place. It is so disheartening when people say one thing and do another all the while claiming they actually believe what they said yet did the opposite. It can make one dizzy just trying to follow. It's human nature to act how one believes. If I were a womanizer I would act that way, make comments in a certain manner and behave around them a particular way. If I were a bigot I would say things accordingly and act a certain way around whatever I am bigoted about. Now a liar or one who knows their views are incorrect will deny or talk opposite of what they act like. These are the dangerous people because they lie to themselves but their behavior bears witness to their beliefs. People, we profess Christianity and act opposite of Christian principles? How can that be? Just going to church doesn't make one a Christian any more than going to the races makes one a race car driver. We've got to invest ourselves into it. We need to know who we are and who our savior is and why we are even in church. Jesus spelled it out;

Joh 14:6
 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

There's no other way. You can't say one thing, do another and expect the blessings of the former. The Word even tells us;

Tit 1:16
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

See the difference? See what lip service and actions show? If one believes Jesus is messiah they will pursue his teachings and follow after him. Where are you? Are you talking the talk and not walking the walk? Are you donning the image but not ingesting the food of the Word? It's time to wake up people and be what Jesus said we are  or stop claiming that you are what you are not.

Heavenly Father,
  Thank you for your Word that nourishes us. Help us be courageous in the face of evil so we can stand where we profess to stand. Lord forgive our weakness under fire but help us wear your armor and trust your ways. Lord protect those people in the mideast and show up and show off. Lord we know time is short. Our hearts ache for those who are lost. Help us be compassionate and help us walk the walk when we talk the talk. in Jesus name, amen
