daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing? I have often wondered why there are so many factions in the Christian church. I have wondered how is the splitting of churches and how two people with the same reference, the Bible, come up with ways and ideas that are different even to the point of being opposite thus can't get together. I heard a sermon recently that woke me up as it were to the Apostle Paul's ministry and how he dealt with the same things. Wow, there were people in those churches that saw Jesus rise from the dead. There were people who heard, some many, some maybe only one of Jesus' sermons and yet there were splits and arguments all the while Paul was warning of grievous wolves would come in. Why? Power? It surely wasn't money for they didn't have much then. What power? Were they convinced they were right or was it out of selfish greed for anything someone else had?

Act 20:28-30
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

I tend to think there were reasons that can be traced to simply a sinful nature. I think man can allow praise and a sense of felling better than others take them them places a Godly humble man won't tread. I preach but there are many who are better. I teach and there are many smarter. I saw this same attitude at the drag races and car shows. "Mine is better or cooler or more tricker" but it is apparent that there was a car faster, prettier and cooler around every bend therefore I had to pay attention to my deal and help those who presented themselves in my field of vision. Just think about this today and explore your own attitude . Are we humble in Gods eyes? Are we willing to offer praise where it needs to be, a hand helping others all the while not comparing ours to theirs?

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for what we have. Teach us wisdom to not throw pearls before swine but to always be humble and encouraging. Help us think like you do and make choices that are fruitful and not selfish. Lead us to your throne Lord and make us your servants because we love and respect you. In Jesus name, amen
