Good morning! How are faithing? We are salt and light in this world full of fools and simple minded worldly people who are lost. We see them run to and fro making the same mistakes made since time began but are foolish enough to think they can do it better. We know some who think they are the center of everything and everyone ought to bow to their wishes. We see those in charge who think we down here are but slaves to their ideas because, you know, they are superior. We tend to emulate what we see, failing to pause to see the truth. We also judge on appearances when in fact, we ought not judge but be that salt and light in an unsavory dark world. What is this rant about? I can think back to friends I picked that my Mother or Dad said was a bad idea, ignored their advice and got in deep trouble. I have found that friends and acquaintances are sometimes polar opposites. The best way I can think to explain this is the scenario of a constant complainer at a job that causes everyone to start complaining. We as believers ought not be intimate with these but be a source of light adding taste and wisdom from God. We must go out there and seek the lost but also be wary we don't fall into the same things. We must pay attention to the influences we allow in our life so we don't get corrupted because the smallest thing can turn our life upside down if we don't maintain focus on God. This is not judgmental but wise. Proverbs is full of wise advise talking about this. Take the time to really look at who has influence on you. Be honest. Some are intimate and some are at arms length. It is wise to make sure which one should be where.
Pro 19:1-11
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.
Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for wisdom in your Word. Help us be salt and light in this world. Help us be wise in the choices we make. Help us understand where our path is leading. Keep us safe from the influence of the enemy. Help us see the heart and present you honorably with compassion. Guide our days Lord, in Jesus name we pray, amen
