daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing this fine day? In times of trouble and in time of peace we must remember who we are in Christ. We've been watching the documentaries on Auschwitz this week and let me tell you, unfathomable to consider mankind is capable of such horror. As we watched and listened to the survivor stories I way amazed at their survival. I don't know if I could endure such things. I would like to think in the face of that kind of bodily destruction and cruelty I could retain my optimism and faith. I think that is why we must drive in deep to the Word and cement it in our hearts for without it I fear I may cave into despair. The book of Job certainly shows how we can rely on God even when we are at our lowest. These things here on earth can evaporate instantly. Those people sent to the concentration camps lost absolutely everything over night. Wow man, loose every tangible thing with the snap of a finger and then endure starvation, beatings, fear. Hmmm, our savior endured  too but for our sake. Maybe we ought to start remembering these things so when we are faced with similar times we can seek God's face. Even Job, in all his distress, realized who he was and who God was and that God decides for reasons we may or may not understand. Still digesting all we saw in the documentary and man...wow...

1Pe 1:3-5
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Isa 40:5-8
And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.  The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for always being with us in the good times and bad. Teach us how to stand firm in the face of all we confront. Help us to never forget we are in Christ and all the evil around is to be rebuked in your name. We love you Lord and bless your holy name. In Jesus name we pray, amen
