Good morning! How are we faithing? As we go about our days we find ourselves judging things and people. It is important to remember judgement that presses our will on others and judgement for deciphering purposes are two distinctly different things. The Word tells us not to judge and even in the Lord's prayer we ask to be forgiven as we forgive. Looking at another with a sneer and a wagging finger is dangerous. Looking at a man robbing a store and calling him a robber and a thief is deciphering a right from wrong action. Judging in a damning way is not our place. We ought to be ready to lead that person to Jesus rather than write him off for a deed committed. Of course we also must be wise enough to our surroundings as to time and place. How do we not make it personal when someone does something wrong or bad to us? Well kids, it can be hard but we must follow Jesus' lead on this. If sin is sin in God's eyes, who are we to judge someone else's sin as more heinous than ours? When we look through those glasses we can become more gracious and at the same time more wise. During the robbery might not be the best time to preach but at the same token, why not? You just might help a fellow human being and lead a soul out of bondage of sin unto a saving knowledge of God. Hmmmm...dunno if I have that kind of nerve but reading the Word and leaning into Jesus for everything sure is where I must start.
1Co 4:4-5
For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
Rom 14:10-13
But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your grace. Lord, forgive us when we misjudge. Help us see the person instead of the sin. Help us be wise and courageous to act as your servants. Help us show grace . Lead us where you can use us. Thank you for another day in Jesus name, amen
