Good morning! How are we faithing? I was studying and thinking about verse 9 from yesterday and found more that may help us understand. Vs 9;
Jas 1:9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
Look at this;
Jer 9:23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
Jer 9:24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
Isn't that awesome? We as a species tend to be selfish and selfishness leads to a haughty mind which leads to idol worship of self. Then we become full of ourselves, start looking down our noses at things, then people. If preaching at a homeless shelter taught me anything it taught me I am no better than anyone else and the right set of events and I can be lower than those guys and higher than I am now. Then I realized I am a man in need of a savior regardless of position, wealth, health or anything else that effects this life. The creator know us better than anyone or thing and still loves us...amazing...
Heavenly Father,
Forgive our sins Lord. We recognize who we are and our sinful tendencies. Help us see truth in all we see, do or think. Help us not be fooled by supposed wise men. Help us on see your truth. Lord we ask for protection of our kids regardless of age. Lord we bless and hold you up to everything. We love and need you daily. In Jesus name, amen
