Good morning! How are we faithing? Continuing in James;
Jas 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
When we read and or listen to the Word of God we then start living what we hear. If we do not have a life change we are hearers only and not doers as it was stated previously. If we look into the Gospel and finally realize the liberty contained we begin to live Jesus' words. As we grow in the Word we start to live a faithful life. Oh we may still deal with things but our attitudes tend to change from one of strife to one of peaceful existence. We do the right things because it's right and not for atta boys. We do what the Word teaches because ....just because and we are blessed. I have discovered that the more we do what the Word teaches we become blessed in more ways than I can count. David spoke of it like this;
Psa 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
Psa 19:8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Psa 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Isn't that awesome? This is a faith of strong morals because they are good for us not a book of rules that when broken, God is there to beat us up. People, this is real love. Love that is kind, patient, not self serving and humble, there lies truth. Think about that....
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Word. Thank you for Loving us. Help us love others like you. Help us see the heart. Grant us vision to see beyond the immediate and apply your truth to every situation. Bless our Pastors and ministers in Jesus name, amen
