daily prayer

 Good Morning! How are we faithing? Looking over past posts and saw this from 2008....
Good morning! Wow what a weekend! 9" of snow Friday night into Saturday, Sunday came and I can see grass again. What a difference a day makes. Have you ever thought about that? One day here and the next gone. Scary? Yep it can be but remember our future is secure. Our final destination is set when we accept the Christ, Jesus. The lesson of the snow brings dramatically into focus how things can change over night. Waxing philosophical over a snow storm is not the intention but we can't dismiss the lesson therein. How does your life impact others? How is your walk? Do others see Jesus and does his word ring true in all you do? By no means is this meant to be judgemental but more for reflection and raised questions in our minds. Sometimes our self worth and mission gets lost in translation as we go day to day. Sometimes the hazards and the worries of life do interfere with our walk with God. Welcome to the club of life. Think on things that fly in the face of living and try to see what needs to stick to you and what needs to be shed off. It's not always easy but we do have a resource, the Word of God;

1 John 2:1-2
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense-Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
NIV

Colossians 3:5-11
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is
idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
NIV

1 Peter 1:13-16
Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."
NIV

We learn these things by reading, experiencing and heeding the Word. Open your eyes to the grace of God. Have a blessed day! Remember our friends who are hurting...

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your grace that we can see you. Lord we rebuke the enemy in your name. Lord keep us safe from intellectual bombardment from satan. Lord guide us and keep us in your presence. Lord we ask you heal us physically and emotionally this day. Help us see you. We praise your holy name in Jesus name, amen
