Good morning! How are we faithing? "Go with your gut", "follow your heart", "the heart wants what the heart wants" Those are sayings I've heard my whole life and they are just as suspect today as when they were spoken. Lets look at these sayings closer. Going with ones gut will only work if one's training in whatever area they may be talking about is efficient. Right? Otherwise one might make a deadly choice. Following your heart can lead to so many bad things if your heart is corrupted by the world can make the last saying about the heart wants what the heart wants ridiculous and maybe even insane. Don't agree? Well look here;

Mar 7:21-23  For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,  thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things pass out from inside and defile the man. 

Wow. Not encouraging for those sayings. Our minds and hearts must be on God continually or we will fall for the lusts of our hearts. This is a huge study and we are just scratching the surface but at this point I encourage you to think beyond yourself for a second and look at what may cause you to embrace those sayings. Ask the pertinent question about yourself. This life isn't easy and bad choices made from bad info only makes it worse.

Heavenly Father, Help us see your truths and have the courage to stand on that truth no matter what comes. We praise you Lord and thank you for everything. Help us keep our eyes on you and not on our own reflection....In Jesus name, amen
