      Good morning! How are we faithing? Gee whiz man, things keep ratcheting up. This whole pride month thing is disconcerting for many reasons. Pride before a fall, God warns of pride and includes it in many scriptures. Being pleased with a job well done or pleased with progress is good but being prideful begats arrogance, haughty opinion of oneself. Pride leads to thinking you are better than others and that can lead down a path of genocide, hate, the labeling of others being less human. Stalin, Hitler, Pal Pot, and so on. This is a huge discussion and can take many trails so I will Let the Word speak;

1Jn 2:15-17  Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,  because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.   And the world passes away, and the lust of it, but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Mar 7:21-23  For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,  thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:   All these evil things pass out from inside and defile the man.

Heavenly Father, Help us recognize when we get prideful. We want to please you and do not want to get puffed up with any success. Help us focus on you and do what is right because you said so. Lord, forgive our failings, we love you Lord, In Jesus name, amen
