Good morning! How are we faithing? As believers in Jesus we try to be good and not sin. We try to approach everything with Godly vision knowing we are saved by grace and not by our deeds, or at least we should. Our good behavior vs our bad behavior, thinking the good deeds outweigh our bad will make us get into heaven, is wrong. I have heard, "I'm a good person, I haven't killed anyone or stolen anything" is a dumb statement based on no factual biblical teachings. It's like saying when someone dies, "well God needed another angel", not at all based on any scripture. We must be very careful what we say. Statements that we think will help in times of mourning or calamity don't help the victim but make us feel good serves nothing. Are we ambassadors of truth? Are we seeking truth in everything we say or do? We better hope we are. We better strive for that mindset because the way the enemy and his minion are showing their wares, we could fall for heresy.
Gal 5:16-21 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for our salvation. Help us live truthfully and not get snared in heresy. Help us recognize "old wives tales" and other lies that take our eyes off you. Lord, we so need truth before our eyes more than what our flesh wants. We lift our emergency workers to you that they be wise and safe and pray for the families facing mourning and catastrophes. Help us be light in a dark world. In Jesus name, amen
