Good morning! How are we faithing? Taking thoughts captive as the Word tells us to do can be difficult if we allow emotional response to lead our thoughts. We are emotional beings but we also are also logical beings or should be. Temper tantrums, getting angry at events or transgressions against us can lead to sinful responses. Careful to not sin when we get ticked has to be a disciplined reaction. Oh I think we are allowed to yell when we hit our thumb with a hammer but what do we yell? Jesus yelled and turned over the market tables in the Synagogue but did not sin in his anger. Read Luke 19. As life before us unfolds we must be cognoscente of our mouths and minds so we don't let events cause us to sin.
Eph 4:26-27 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
Psa 39:1 To the chief Musician, even to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
Follow this thought process;
Rom 12:19-21 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Heavenly Father, We lift holy hands to you! Help us not sin in our disgust and anger! Help us seek your face 24/7. Lord we lift our leaders and even our enemies to you. Open their eyes to your truth and love. Let our light illuminate the path to you. In Jesus name, amen
