Good morning! How are we faithing? I find it amazing when I read the Word. Trying to understand the complexities of this relationship with God while knowing it is simple really. Our minds struggle with the simplicity because we think nothing can be free. Our existence seems to be tit for tat or rather work and earn but salvation is not that at all. It really is free. God so loved us that he gave his son so we could have everlasting life which in of itself we really don't understand. Because of time constraints we struggle with "everlasting" or "eternal" words. Many ways of explaining these ideas were presented to the people who saw Jesus but skepticism still abounded. Here's one;
Joh 6:35-40 And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes on Me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you also have seen Me and do not believe. All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will in no way cast out. For I came down from Heaven, not to do My own will but the will of Him who sent Me. And this is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all which He has given Me I should lose nothing but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes on Him should have everlasting life. And I will raise him up at the last day.
Seeing Christ up front and personal and still the people of that time failed to see the truth. People were the same as people today. They sinned and preferred sin over righteousness then just like today. Oh what a twisted lot we can be...
Heavenly Father, Thank you for your grace that saves us. Forgive us please when we sin. We want to be your sons and daughters living holy but we just fail so often. Grant us wisdom to see truth and act holy. In Jesus name, amen
