Good morning! How are we faithing? With all the things going on in the world it can be a chore to adhere strictly to Jesus' orders. It's hard to love the unlovely. It's hard to forgive heinous behavior. When we get sinned against it's easy to sin even worse towards the perpetrator. Our attitude towards others has to be chasing Jesus' attitude or we fall into the same or worse sin committed against us. Forgiving does not mean condoning. Loving the unlovely does not mean we approve but means we recognize they are sinners like us. It can be hard and sometimes elusive to forgive evil acts but we have one source that grounds us. Jesus.

1Jn 2:1-6  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.   And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.   He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

As we keep seeking truth and compassion on sinners we must always look to Jesus or we simply cannot achieve any semblance of forgiveness. Our nature seems to be retribution but with the love of our savior and our eyes on him we can improve. Be quick to pray. Be quick to ask for guidance from our Lord and recognize whatever mechanism used. His eyes man...his eyes...

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word that is the only food that nourishes completely. Help us seek your face in all our endeavors. Lead us, guide us, speak to us, help us be your light in a dark dark place...In Jesus' name, amen
