Daily Prayer

Great morning to you! How are we faithing? The confidence we have of salvation is totally based on scripture and not an interpretation of man. The scripture spells it out quite basically. There is one way to heaven. " I am doing good stuff " don't cut it. Even evil people do good stuff and conversely, good people do evil stuff. In this world where satan abides, we are subject to the influences of it. Our savior, Jesus the Christ is our refuge and our way to heaven. The Holy Spirit will tell us when we are about to jump into something evil. His voice is deafening in our heads while the world hears nothing.

Hebrews 3:7-15
So, as the Holy Spirit says:
"Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert, where your fathers tested and tried me and for forty years saw what I did. That is why I was angry with that generation, and I said, 'Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.' So I declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.'"
See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.
NIV

That makes reference to the exodus out of Egypt and after seeing all the wonders of God, the people still didn't listen to God. We are to encourage one another and listen to the Holy Spirit. Absorb the Word. Elvis Costello has a line in one of his songs, "every day I write the book", and the Holy Spirit uses the Bible every day to talk to us. When the alarms go off in your head, heed it! Praise God that he does that! Does that mean we are to be puppets and sheep led to slaughter? On the contrary! We have freedom in God and we have the Holy Spirit to alert us! That's a good thing! It's happened to you before, "glad I didn't do that!" has been muttered to ourselves down the road when we see how things played out. God has that play book. He is that book. He knows what is best. Enjoy your day and seek out God in all you do.
Remember Tricia Cornett, baby stuff...Tonya Fulfer...Corey Openshaw and Stacey Collins kids, Corey and Stacey were killed in a car wreck and the kids are in the hospital...

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your word and all the wisdom in it. Thank you for caring about us and sending your son. Be with the families in anguish. Comfort and hold them. Reveal yourself to them. We lift each other up to you and pray for your Holy Spirit to come and show us your will. Help us be examples of your love and grace. Help us show your mercy to others. Help us forgive others as you have. Teach us humility and compassion for others. Guide us in all we do, in Jesus name, Amen
