Good morning! How we are seen by the unsaved is so influential. If they see us cussing and getting hammered or acting like the world, how to they know we are God's? This doesn't mean we cant have fun, it means we shouldn't sin to have fun.
Ephesians 5:15-20
Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
NIV
This not a temperance speech but an urging to us to be mindful of our actions. If what we do causes someone to fall or to miss Jesus, we ought not do that behavior. Wisdom in situations is important so that God's grace is seen and not worldly things. As we go and do things whether it is work or play we must be mindful of how we are perceived. The wisdom and the discernment to pick correct choices is available. Just ask.
James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
NIV
Also,
James 3:17-18
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.
NIV
Be confident in your supplications to the Lord. Believe what the Word tells us. Ask for wisdom and discernment. Be of good cheer in any situation because God walks with you. Still may be hard but nothing lasts forever but God.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the wisdom of your Word. Grant us the smarts to make correct choices. Keep us close to you and show us how to act. If we have any sin in our lives, reveal it to us and take the attraction away. We want to live righteously and honorably in your sight. Help us feel you loving arms around us. We praise your holy name. Thank you for your grace. Be with Isaiah and family and all the kids, Savannah and Shelby, Tooter, Destiny, Jasmine, Tony, Cammy and Christies new unborn one. in Jesus name, Amen
