Great morning! How are we faithing? Do you feel like you are missing the boat sometimes when you are seeking a word from God? Yeah me too. Just when I think I got it, a wrench gets tossed in the cogs of the spiritual wheel. We doubt what we've heard or we can't seem to hear anything. You know what? Sometimes when you don't get an answer when logic says things need to happen a certain way, we need to defy logic and wait. Man o man is that tough to do! Mans wisdom tells you one thing and we sit chomping at the bit and often we make rash decisions because of it. God knows the future and where you are in this spiritual maturity journey and what is good for you ultimately.
1 Corinthians 2:13-16
This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
"For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?"
But we have the mind of Christ.
NIV
Also on this same thought,
1 Corinthians 1:18-19
For the word of the cross is to those who are perishing foolishness, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written,
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the cleverness of the clever I will set aside."
NAS
Interesting and when you think about it, some of the concepts in the Word defy conventional wisdom, example, to be saved, all one must do is believe Christ the Messiah died for you. Faith and grace is all that is needed. We don't jump through any hoops. We don't have any physical things to endure to be saved. Living the Christian spiritual life brings with it some requirements that seem contrary to worldly wisdom but they don't determine our destiny. Those things come with following Jesus. Waiting on a word from God teaches us patience, wisdom, discernment, and shows us how to rely on him. Is it easy? Good Lord no! We are in this flesh and that is a battle in itself! So don't dissmay and beat yourself, pray, read the Wod,believe and listen for God!
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your son's sacrifice that saves a wretch like me! Thank you that we don't perform for you to be saved. Teach us to hear your wisdom. Help us recognise your voice. Please help us marure and be able to withstand our own desires so we can see yours. Thank you for saving us with grace and love and not performances. Forgive us when we fail and help us see and remember. We life each other up to you, help us not fall into depression and self loathing over mistakes we make. Help us see and remember you love and forgive us. Keep us from the enemies snares. in Jesus name, Amen!
