Good morning! How are we faithing? Are you ever overwhelmed with love? When your child hugs you or your spouse looks in your eyes and expresses their love and devotion to you? The love you feel for your child that can't be explained because it comes from the marrow and the deepest reaches of your being. That's a fraction of the love God has for you. Enough that he gave us Jesus who loved us enough to die for all of us. Makes your head swim sometimes just trying to get a grip on that! Ever just feel the Holy Spirit envelop you with that feeling of inner peace and assurance of the love for you? Looky here,
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
NIV
Wow! That's quite a picture. Think about each line. True love is so deep inside our heart that it cannot be pulled away from us. Are we disappointed with someone? Hurt? Saddened? Well sure. The human condition that we are in can cause these things but Jesus is the same today, yesterday and always. No divorce, no let downs of any types. He is not bound by the physical nature we have. He will never leave or forsake you. That my friend, is LOVE. Your happiness and security is not that new house or car or relationship. It is God that provides that inner peace and love. Are all those things nice and make you glad? Yep they do, for a season whereas God's love has no season. It endures forever. Confidence in this where inner joy and peace lies. Be giddy that Jesus is right there with you even when you feel like all is lost. Heartache comes and go's but Jesus' love is consistent and never ending. Grab that and pray a prayer of thanks and adoration to the God of this universe that you are important to him. Have a blessed weekend and rejoice in our savior!
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your grace and love! Show me the way to your sacrifice and enduring love! Teach me to rely on you for happiness and let us not be burdened with this world. Grant us wisdom to see through all our trials and know you walk with us. Guide us this weekend and help us be who you see us as. Come deep into our hearts and save us! Thank you for showing us love through your Word. We lift all those we encounter and ask to help where they need it. in Jesus name, Amen
