Good morning! How are we faithing? We have a bunch of stuff that keeps us from God. Work worries, yard chores, honey do's, hobbies, etc. We really need to be careful that these things don't get in the way of nurturing our relationship with Jesus. Now don't use our relationship with Jesus as an excuse to get out of these things, "Honey, I'd mow the lawn but I need to pray". Ha Ha! Just some funnin there...Make sure you have that quiet time with the Lord. Things need to be done on this earth and there is nothing wrong with that in and of itself. Everyone needs some relaxation. Everyone needs work of some sort. Everyone needs something to enjoy. For me it's my guitar or the garage working on cars. Nothing says you can't combine your hobby or work with praise and worship too! Chores are just that, mundane repetitive boring tasks that must be done. So why not praise and worship?
1 Peter 4:7-11
The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
NIV
Those verses teach us to do all things as if we are doing them for God. Remembering that God is always with us helps us continue on, not for fear that we are being watched but for assurance that he never leaves nor will forsake us. That my friend's builds confidence to get on with everything we do. Remember God and don't forget to lift everything to him all the time. Whenever you are happy, thank and pray. Whenever you are depressed, praise and pray. Whenever you are sad, seek his joy and pray. Never forget you are redeemed from your failings and this world also the body we reside in is temporal therefore, be of good cheer even when you don't feel like it because you are loved! Pray for that peace that passes all understanding. Remember Dee Morgan still in hosp, her family too...remember my bride Kathy as she deals with her physical stuff...remember our firefighters and cops...don't forget our kids regardless of age...
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your grace and love that we can't begin to understand. Help us see you and not the junk that invades our space. We lift Dee and her family to you, heal Dee and comfort Danny and Doughboy. Keep Mary healthy. Lord we lift our cops and firefighters to you. Keep them safe and grant them wisdom to make those split second decisions. Lord guide our kids and show them your face. Thank you for all you've done and all you're gonna do, in Jesus name, Amen!
