Daily Prayer

Good rainy morning to you! Man we need this rain! California needs it too! Pray for those people and the firefighters out there!
Doing good because it's the right thing to do and not for accolades is honorable. Having answers for our hope and disposition is important to the unsaved. You don't have to be a bible scholar or a Pastor, just ready to share your hope in Jesus. Why do you have that hope and trust? Because of what Jesus has done for you. Here,

1 Peter 3:13-16
Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened." But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. NIV

Isn't that reassuring and interesting at the same time. We should desire what is upstanding and honorable in Christ all the time. "Let the chips fall where they may", as it were. We should be ready with gentleness and respect to answer questions. If we don't know, tell em you'll find out. Reading the Word daily really helps in that arena. People will talk about you but you can't concern yourself with that. No one likes to be dissed but it's gonna happen. You be concerned about you and your relationship with God and let the world worry about itself. Seek what is noble and true, you'll sleep better.

Hebrews 13:18
Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.
NIV

Amen to that!

2 Corinthians 4:1-2
Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
NIV

Wow, that says it best. An Alison Krauss song lyric, "you say it best when you say nothing at all." Man take that to heart, our life and how we live it speaks volumes to the unbeliever. Plain truth without tons of rhetoric cuts to the chase and leaves no doubt in their minds. Seek the things of God. Require the good things that God has for your life. When you stumble, be quick to pray and forgive yourself so you can try again without fear. I pray you all rest well and know God loves you and wants what is best, believe that.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your Word that teaches us how to live. Help us be upstanding in your eyes. Help us live honorably so our lives shine with your light. Lord we pray for the firefighters out west, keep them safe. Help them perform heroically. Lord we ask you keep the people safe also! Help us see you in everything and be a holy example that others can see. Grab Natasha and let her know the truth! Be with all our kids. Rest your hand on Shelby and Savanna. Thank you for your grace that saved us. in Jesus name, Amen
