daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing? What hinders your walk with Jesus? How do you deal with things that wreck you time with our savior? Distractions, addictions, worries, woe and self pity get in the way of a true walk with God. Your relationship with God is important to even exist. Don't believe me? Have you seen all the junk going on in the world? Nothing is new but the amount of it in my short life has expanded so much it blows me away. The hardness out there is stunning. Things that just 50 years ago were on the peripheral are now main stream. Not judging anyone just observing. What does that mean? Could be as simple as a culture in death throws like the Roman empire did or it could be like prophecy said that hardness of heart will grow in the last days. I tend to agree with the later.  The self absorbing nature of everything today is scary to me. My bliss is more important than anything? Really?  How does that work? No way can my bliss be more important than anyone elses and why is that a concern anyways? Describe bliss. What are we wanting anyways? Lay on a couch while babes feed us grapes? Get real. My folks had nothing but the love of God, their kids and that love and although times were rough, they were content . Blissful all the time? Of course not? Needing? Wanting? Well sure but they were content. Needs made them work. Wants were given to God. Content with the real things and not superficial junk. In fact, this seeking of bliss on earth leads to things like a junkie, a perpetual striving for getting higher. Ya, that works well...

Heb 13:5-6
Let your way of life be without the love of money, and be content with such things as you have, for He has said, "Not at all will I leave you, not at all will I forsake you, never!"  so that we may boldly say, "The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do to me."

1Ti 6:6-12
But godliness with contentment is great gain.  For we brought nothing into the world, and it is clear that we can carry nothing out.  But having food and clothing, we will be content.  But they who will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts which plunge men into destruction and perdition.  For the love of money is a root of all evils, of which some having lusted after, they were seduced from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.  But you, O man of God, flee these things and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness.  Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on eternal life, to which you are also called and have professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for what you have given us. Thank you for your son. Thank you for the gift of pardon. Help us be wise and content because of who we are in you. Open our eyes beyond self. Heal our bodies to better serve you. Heal minds to see truth. In Jesus name, amen
