daily prayer

Great morning! How are we faithing? How many of you wake in the morning dreading what lays ahead? You hate your job, the roads suck, you didn't sleep well, you're broke, no one appreciates you, your clothes don't fit etc. Snap out of it! This mode of thinking is wrong and you, a son or daughter of God, are complaining about stuff rather than embracing what lies ahead as an opportunity to see God! I saw the river is up and wondered about the men living under the bridge. Thank God the men's shelter here in town is putting these people up because the temp is below freezing and yet we whine because things aren't perfect like we think they ought to be? Where are our heads at? Has our culture pushed us so far in our thinking that unless we have achieved the magazine American dream we are failures? I'm guilty too but thank God for the wisdom and the lessons in the Bible that teach us more than that! There's nothing wrong with success but at the same time success needs to be put into a Biblical perspective or we fall for the enemies lies and get bogged down with issues that are not even pertinent to our existence. Is the glass is half empty or half full? Let me answer that. The glass is always full. Physics proves that. It's half full of air and half full of water and sometimes the air on top is dirty. Sometimes the water below is dirty but we always have a full glass and what we choose to use is on us. Drink the dirty water or breath the dirty air and we become sick in one way or another. Choose to clean that water and air and we stay healthy. So as you face your days, choose to clean that glass and walk with the grace you've been given by a God that loves you no matter the condition of your surroundings. Put on that armor of God before your feet hit the floor.

Col 3:1-17
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:  For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:  In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;  And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your love for us. Bring to mind your Word. Open our eyes to what we hold as important. Forgive us where we fail.  We want to see your grace in everything. We want to be content in you. In Jesus name, amen
