Good morning! How are we faithing? I have a cool job. As I inspect for fire safety stuff I get to see many things the public, unless you work there, never get to see. As a result I ponder many things such as "what ifs" and "can one do thus and so". These daily events also invade my dreams and some are really wacky. Last night I dreamt I was present for an AC/DC concert making sure egress was sufficient and then my bride and I sat down to listen after I had spoken to the band. Weird huh? I also got in an argument over scripture and saw my old best friend, who is with the Lord now, help me with my garage. So many times I awake realizing the battle on this earth really is in the mind. Scripture speaks and warns of this many times. Examples:
Luk_12:29
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
Mar_12:30
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
So if we are to do this we have control of our minds. Allowing errant destructive conscious thoughts to permeate our minds is lethal. Many wild thoughts enter our minds and if we were to allow them to set there we could end up doing heinous things. The thought isn't the sin but what we do with it. Look at these;
Rom_7:23
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom_8:7
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Luk_12:29
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
Mar_12:30

Rom_12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Rom_12:16
Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Just take captive those thoughts that show up. Discard the ones that will eat on you and use the ones that edify you. Simple really but hard to do all the time. Take those thoughts captive before you fondle them. I day dream about building a car, playing my guitar, my bride and I out doing stuff and an errant bogus thought will fly in the midsat. I don't care if the enemy tossed it in or it is of my own doings I still have to recognize it and put in the outgoing box or the save box. Pray people for wisdom to jknow where our thoughts ought to go.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for wisdom from scripture that teaches and warns. Help us be aware of thoughts so we can take them captive. Lord, we praise you and we do remember your sacrifice for us especially this weekend. Thank you Lord, in Jesus name, amen
