daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing? As I learn, read and listen to other men of  God I get a picture of Christianity. Jesus is Messiah first and foremost. The Acts of the Apostles as they carried out the great commission Jesus gave before he ascended to the Father shows much about the "religious" side of Christianity as well as the spiritual side.  I find it very interesting that the apostles still went to synagogue, celebrated Jewish feasts all the while explaining that all this was fine but that salvation came by forgiveness and grace not the law. Belief in Messiah Jesus and acceptance of the gift of pardon is where it's at. Religious ceremony is ok but if one forgets messiah and chases the ceremony they miss the whole point. Scripture points to Jesus and shows Jesus and yet some still think if they sit in "church", sing a hymn or two, pray that they have done what they're suppose to therefore they are ok with God. Man, what a sorry place to be. I find that throughout time from the first Apostles to now men have changed and switched around things for various reasons and yet I keep looking into the religious side of things and if anyone thinks they can be saved by "doing" church and that they "earn" a heaven bound ride, they really screwed up. If one were to believe that then they ought to be going to synagogue because that's where the law came from. The entire premise of Mosaic law and Christianity is Jewish based. If one were practicing Christianity without Jesus they are doomed. I've found nothing in the Word that says for us not to continue with synagogue. Interesting no? Does that mean we MUST do synagogue? Well we know we can'rt earn salvation and we know culture can influence ceremonies so it stands to reason we wont die on the choice to or not to but it does pose many questions doesn't it. Don't be confused here, just interesting points that while we read of the Apostles and learn from them they always pointed to Jesus and his sacrifice for you and me. The rest is filler and the promise of the Holy Spirit will reveal all truth.

Zec 12:1
The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.

Heavenly Father,
Forgive our sins. We accept your gift of pardon and claim you as our messiah. Cleans us. Send your Holy Spirit to clear our minds and hearts. Help us receive the peace that only you can give. Open up scripture to us and let not the evil of the world and the principalities of the air influence us. Bless us as we bless you with words and deeds. In Jesus name, amen
