daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing? Good news wrapped around a lie will become bad news. Are you interested in hearing truth or stuff that makes you feel good? Those two things do not have to be mutually exclusive or inclusive. The truth is the truth and if it pricks your heart or drives you to repentance than it is the good gospel whereas if all it does is make you feel good as you continue to live however you choose, it is a lie. God doesn't play and when he sees evil an appropriate action at the appropriate time will ensue. The cool thing is if we repent, his wrath, how do I put this, pauses. If we accept the gift of pardon he honors that repentant mind and that acceptance of the gift which leads to a pause, a stoppage of his wrath. His wrath isn't a personal thing towards you but towards the sin and if that were not so he would simply smite with reckless abandon. Do you follow this train of thought? What good is an ear tickler  preacher who never calls sin sin or points out where we are screwing up? I don't mean finger pointing or judgement but pointing out the truth. Telling a lie is a sin. Period. Stealing is a sin etc. There's no way around it. No way to rationalize it. You can't sin to achieve something and then say God thinks it's ok for thus and so goal. Bluntly put, if your pastor is preaching feel good and never calls sin sin, he's a false teacher and you had better run.

2Co 11:3
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Rom 16:17-18
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your grace and forgiveness. Help us to don your armor so we can be protected from false teachers. Help us be very aware of your truth. Bless those we meet and we pray they see you in us. Bless those families that are hurting. In jesus name, amen.
