daily prayer

    Good morning! How are we faithing? My heart aches for people. I've lost sleep over others pain. I have woke praying for people in pain. Have you? Have you held a grudge against someone who has hurt your friend? Have you dismissed an opportunity to help someone because they hurt your friend in the past or have you gotten mad because your friend is helping someone who hurt you in the past? These are feelings and actions that are all too common and we need to pay attention when we display and or harbor them. Of course we stand up for our friends and family but do we have the right to not show Jesus grace? Jesus didn't pick and choose, his grace is available to anyone who will reach out and accept it so that causes me to reevaluate my anger and grudges that I may be carrying for others. You know, it's hard enough to keep my attitude and my walk with God on the narrow path, why would I load myself down with that kind of junk? Sure we hurt for our friends and family and it does take time to calm those feelings but out of obedience to the Word we ought to reel it in and be a true Jesus disciple. Paul taught this;

Gal 6:1
 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

We  want to slap the snot out of some and at the same time cry and hug the stuffings out of them. Been there? If you have kids you have. Here's an interesting set of verses;

Jas 5:19-20
  Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

Boy, what a fine line this is to walk. Ever had someone stick there nose in the middle of your business? Ever done that yourself? I always remember a movie Cher was in where she slapped this young man and says,"snap out of it!" and then they continued on with their task. That is precisely how we feel many times when we are in the situation this daily started with. Love them like we want to be loved. If you are angry, don't sin in that anger. If you loose sleep, so be it but seek God. Forgive quick and try to restore them if it is for you to do that. Otherwise, shut up, pray for them and don't carry baggage that ain't yours to carry.

remember the Jerry Parritt family...

Heavenly Father,
  Thank you for love and grace that have no match in the worldly things. Help us to remember when we are tempted that the bigger picture has you in the center. Lord forgive us where we drop the faith ball and heal our hearts so we can pick it up and get back in the game. We do lift our family and friends up to you and ask all of our eyes be opened and drop defensive walls where we need to. In Jesus name, amen
